Review Artt of the Black Card by Anthony Ryan Sadana

Guest Review by Mark S.

“In the pages that follow, you’ll learn nine vital work/life principles, backed by my stories as an entrepreneur.”

An incredibly valuable resource for young professionals and aspiring entrepreneur’s alike! Anthony Sadana has an incredibly varied resume. He has consulted for major companies and runs his own real estate investment organization, so it’s no wonder that he has the knowledge that he does about the business world.

This book is unlike any other financial self-help book that I have read because it comes from the perspective of a young, 21st century business man who operates much of his business online. There are nine main sections in the book, each of which Sadana focuses around a single topic of advice. Some of these topics are things like, ‘Be on the lookout,’ which discusses having the proper amount of self-motivation and how to see opportunity where others do not and ‘Change Happens’ which talks about keeping yourself open to adjusting your business idea.

One of my favorite chapters was the one that talked about how to correctly employ ‘being an asshole’ when you are a manager. Sadana says that being an asshole basically means standing up for yourself and leveraging the best possible deal, which is different from just being a jerk who has no self awareness. Standing up for your idea and not letting yourself get taken advantage of by potential partners or even customers is so vital to starting a business, I was pleased to see that Sadana included it.

This book is well written and witty, both of which keep it interesting as you read along. I think it is one of my favorite books of this kind that I have read and I would love to read more from this author in the future. 5 out of 5 stars!

About Anthony Ryan SadanaArtt of the Black Card by Anthony Ryan Sadana

At the tender age of 23, Anthony Ryan Sadana received an exclusive invitation to apply for the fabled no-limit American Express Black Card, which represented, in his mind, “the pinnacle of my financial success and the ultimate recognition for measuring any sort of achievement against your peers.”

Today, this entrepreneur, innovator, author and influencer enjoys a multi-faceted, successful career on a global scale in a wide range of businesses. Praise Artt of the Black Card by Anthony Ryan Sadana

“Irreverent, honest, and right on the money. Powerful business insights from a man who’s seen itall. If you want to make a lot of money on your own terms, this is the book for you.”– Robert F. Burris, Film/TV Producer

“Incredible book; every person looking to be successful in business needs to read this book. The story is engaging and educational. Not a long read, perfect for reading on a plane or train ride. You will ask yourself why you have not followed this advice before. Cannot say enough about this book; read it as soon as you can.”– Julio Garcia, MD

“Anthony Ryan Sadana has no difficulty speaking his mind in The Art of the Black Card. And he has no filter on his voice or words, which perhaps describes “the no-BS guide to business” that serves as subtitle.
His message is positive. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and fail. It happens to the best of us. When hardships occur, as they inevitably will, be prepared to lift yourself off the ground and get back in the game. No excuses allowed. Learn from the experience and work harder (and smarter) next time.
Sadana’s experiences bring to mind a couple of lines from the Van Halen song, Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love – “I been to the edge, an’ there I stood an’ looked down, you know I lost a lot of friends there, baby, I got no time to mess around.”
The author’s answer to everything is to outwork the competition, to pivot when necessary to find new sources of income. There is a confidence to his voice that some may mistake for arrogance. Whatever you call it, he has discovered ways to channel that trait and his own savvy to become a successful entrepreneur who has overcome multiple setbacks, one of which left him flat broke and millions in debt. Several of his lessons, his roller-coaster life and his willingness to lay it all on the line make this a fascinating and worthwhile read.”-Brian Rouff, Imagine Communications and Author

“Authentic, to-the-point, easy to read because of its anecdotal style. Sometimes funny, sometimes controversial, sometimes preachy, sometimes arrogant. Not for the easily offended. Has some very honest truths and good points about how the business world really works.”-Christina, Amazon

Interview Artt of the Black Card by Anthony Ryan Sadana

Hi Anthony, thanks for agreeing to this interview.

TR: Please tell us something about ‘The Artt Of the Black Card’ that is not in the summary.  (About the book, character you particularly enjoyed writing etc.)

ARS: It came from a deep place of annoyance. I was so tired of seeing all these self-proclaimed business gurus online who really had no practical business experience. I wanted to offer my audience the “real deal” as to what they could expect from the entrepreneurial life.

TR: How much time and effort went into your creation of the ‘The Artt of the Black Card?

ARS: It took me approximately a year to write. The hardest part of the development process was creating the book’s concept, as well as deciding which stories would actually help my audience versus just quenching my thirst to get them off my chest.

TR: Due to COVID-19 these are exceptionally trying times.  Not only the number of people out of work but for once-thriving businesses as well.  How can people work through these trying times and thrive?

ARS: Try new things they have not done before. I have had to do the same in my own business. I’ve gone back to basics, doing things I haven’t done in a very long time just to keep the doors open.

TR: I personally use my credit cards as a tool.  I always make sure I can pay the entire balance off every month but charge just about everything for the travel rewards. So many people get in over their heads with credit card debt.  Do you have any advice for them?

ARS: I personally have the same philosophy; I don’t believe in spending more than can be paid in full monthly. I always recommend charge cards instead of credit cards. It helps curve any unnecessary spending and helps keep that goal of only buying what you can afford.

TR: Where did you get the inspiration for your cover?

ARS: From the Black American Express Card as well as the official Centurion logo imprinted on most AmEx credit cards and promotional items.

TR: What are you currently working on?

ARS: I think the current COVID crises has presented some great opportunities in the stock market; most of my time these days goes into stock research and future financial planning.

TR: What book/s are you reading at present?

ARS: I hate to say that I don’t actually read many books. I much prefer to spend my time reading analyst articles, financial reports, newspapers, etc.

TR: Is there a question that you would have liked me or another blogger to ask but didn’t?

ARS: Why the title of my book has a double T in ARTT. Its subtle but exists for a reason.  It stands for “Anthony Ryan Transforms Tomorrow,” which has become my mantra of sorts. If people are interested, they can find more information about this on my YouTube channel, Instagram postings and the like.

Mother's Grace by Michelle MooreA Mother’s Grace by Michelle Moore

Thanks to Leslie Barrett of PR By the Book, I am giving away one print copy of ‘A Mother’s Grace’ by Michelle Moore.

Description Mother’s Grace by Michelle Moore

The compelling story of heroic women across the country who, despite personal trauma, found grace in difficult times and transformed their personal adversity into pay-it-forward wins by founding nonprofits that help and sustain others, mother to mother.

In the midst of environmental chaos, economic uncertainly, and an endless array of health issues, mothers remain the backbone of our families and exponentially impact their communities. Such is the case of the brave women featured in A Mother’s Grace: Healing the World One Woman at a Time. Author Michelle Moore is founder and executive director of Mother’s Grace, an award-winning nonprofit organization that supports thousands of mothers and their children in crisis each year. She endured overwhelming trauma as a young girl when her mother died suddenly, and later struggled with divorce, cancer, and a son with juvenile diabetes. She begins by recounting how women in her circle of mom friends helped heal her childhood wounds and empowered her to claim victories in adulthood. Along the way, through divine intervention, she meets the ten remarkable women featured here whose personal tragedy-to-victory stories changed her forever.

Readers seeking guidance during the challenging times we all face in life will find inspiration and hope as they meet mothers who have lived through dire poverty, the death of a child, a spouse’s suicide, terminal childhood cancer, and devastating natural disaster. The poignant and powerful stories of how each found the grit and grace to not only defeat these challenges but also turn them around to impact the world is enlightening and motivating.

Finally, Moore calls readers to rise from the depths of their challenges and gives them the tools to do so. Lessons from the moms in this book provide specific life strategies anyone can use to improve her situation and the world around her—one woman at a time.

Praise Mother’s Grace by Michelle Moore

“A Mother’s Grace is filled with stories about the strength and resilience of women. Maternal energy sustains life and our planet. Michelle Moore has done an amazing job of showcasing that the givers of life are also the ultimate protectors of life. Michelle’s book touched me deeply.” —Candice Rosen, author of Forget Dieting! It’s All About Data-Driven Fueling

“Women historically have not been able to have their stories of sacrifice and determination adequately portrayed. A Mother’s Grace offers a poignant account that identifies the urgency of telling the stories of women who have given from the heart. Women can change the world, and A Mother’s Grace shows us how.”––Anandhi Narasimhan, MD, child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist; asylum evaluator, Physicians for Human Rights

“Unless one experiences hardship, grave illness of a child, or even looking squarely into the face of one’s own death, one misses the opportunity to empathize with others who also experience devastating need, loss of a beloved, or the annihilation of the home and village that had been the ancestral home before a tornado. Through acquaintances with strong, inspirational women, Moore found personal healing through faith, love, service, and friendship to others by sharing and writing about their experiences. By writing this poignant book, volunteering with disaster clean-up, and founding Mother’s Grace, a nonprofit that now assists mothers and their children in the midst of tragic life events, this dynamic Power Woman was able to face her adversity, become resilient by grace, and “raise her soul to a higher place.”—Dr. P. D. Sargent, author, Power Women: Lessons from the Ancient World
