Artt of the Black Card

Description Artt of the Black Card by Anthony Ryan Sadana

“The Artt of the Black Card” is a fresh, concise, irreverent instruction manual on how to succeed as an entrepreneur based on the author’s own original insights and his risk-taking record as a businessman and innovator. This is not a cookie-cutter business book filled with tired advice and worn-out clichés. “The Artt of the Black Card” is a contrarian guidebook for a new generation of business owners and leaders — anyone with the smarts, guts and passion for making money. You don’t need an MBA to get rich, and “The Artt of the Black Card” proves it.

Employing nine vital work/life lessons using the exclusive and legendary American Express Black Card, aka the Centurion Card as a framework, author and serial entrepreneur Anthony Ryan Sadana explains how to make money while the world around you is going to hell  and emerge stronger than ever. It’s the perfect antidote to today’s extraordinary challenges.

Review Artt of the Black Card by Anthony Ryan Sadana

Guest Review by Mark S.

“In the pages that follow, you’ll learn nine vital work/life principles, backed by my stories as an entrepreneur.”

An incredibly valuable resource for young professionals and aspiring entrepreneur’s alike! Anthony Sadana has an incredibly varied resume. He has consulted for major companies and runs his own real estate investment organization, so it’s no wonder that he has the knowledge that he does about the business world.

This book is unlike any other financial self-help book that I have read because it comes from the perspective of a young, 21st century business man who operates much of his business online. There are nine main sections in the book, each of which Sadana focuses around a single topic of advice. Some of these topics are things like, ‘Be on the lookout,’ which discusses having the proper amount of self-motivation and how to see opportunity where others do not and ‘Change Happens’ which talks about keeping yourself open to adjusting your business idea.

One of my favorite chapters was the one that talked about how to correctly employ ‘being an asshole’ when you are a manager. Sadana says that being an asshole basically means standing up for yourself and leveraging the best possible deal, which is different from just being a jerk who has no self awareness. Standing up for your idea and not letting yourself get taken advantage of by potential partners or even customers is so vital to starting a business, I was pleased to see that Sadana included it.

This book is well written and witty, both of which keep it interesting as you read along. I think it is one of my favorite books of this kind that I have read and I would love to read more from this author in the future. 5 out of 5 stars!

About Anthony Ryan SadanaArtt of the Black Card by Anthony Ryan Sadana

Today, this entrepreneur, innovator, author and influencer enjoys a multi-faceted, successful career on a global scale in a wide range of businesses. Praise Artt of the Black Card by Anthony Ryan Sadana

“Irreverent, honest, and right on the money. Powerful business insights from a man who’s seen itall. If you want to make a lot of money on your own terms, this is the book for you.”– Robert F. Burris, Film/TV Producer

“Incredible book; every person looking to be successful in business needs to read this book. The story is engaging and educational. Not a long read, perfect for reading on a plane or train ride. You will ask yourself why you have not followed this advice before. Cannot say enough about this book; read it as soon as you can.”– Julio Garcia, MD

“Anthony Ryan Sadana has no difficulty speaking his mind in The Art of the Black Card. And he has no filter on his voice or words, which perhaps describes “the no-BS guide to business” that serves as subtitle.
His message is positive. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and fail. It happens to the best of us. When hardships occur, as they inevitably will, be prepared to lift yourself off the ground and get back in the game. No excuses allowed. Learn from the experience and work harder (and smarter) next time.
Sadana’s experiences bring to mind a couple of lines from the Van Halen song, Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love – “I been to the edge, an’ there I stood an’ looked down, you know I lost a lot of friends there, baby, I got no time to mess around.”
The author’s answer to everything is to outwork the competition, to pivot when necessary to find new sources of income. There is a confidence to his voice that some may mistake for arrogance. Whatever you call it, he has discovered ways to channel that trait and his own savvy to become a successful entrepreneur who has overcome multiple setbacks, one of which left him flat broke and millions in debt. Several of his lessons, his roller-coaster life and his willingness to lay it all on the line make this a fascinating and worthwhile read.”-Brian Rouff, Imagine Communications and Author

“Authentic, to-the-point, easy to read because of its anecdotal style. Sometimes funny, sometimes controversial, sometimes preachy, sometimes arrogant. Not for the easily offended. Has some very honest truths and good points about how the business world really works.”-Christina, Amazon

Interview Artt of the Black Card by Anthony Ryan Sadana

Hi Anthony, thanks for agreeing to this interview.

TR: Please tell us something about ‘The Artt Of the Black Card’ that is not in the summary.  (About the book, character you particularly enjoyed writing etc.)

ARS: It came from a deep place of annoyance. I was so tired of seeing all these self-proclaimed business gurus online who really had no practical business experience. I wanted to offer my audience the “real deal” as to what they could expect from the entrepreneurial life.

TR: How much time and effort went into your creation of the ‘The Artt of the Black Card?

ARS: It took me approximately a year to write. The hardest part of the development process was creating the book’s concept, as well as deciding which stories would actually help my audience versus just quenching my thirst to get them off my chest.

TR: Due to COVID-19 these are exceptionally trying times.  Not only the number of people out of work but for once-thriving businesses as well.  How can people work through these trying times and thrive?

ARS: Try new things they have not done before. I have had to do the same in my own business. I’ve gone back to basics, doing things I haven’t done in a very long time just to keep the doors open.

TR: I personally use my credit cards as a tool.  I always make sure I can pay the entire balance off every month but charge just about everything for the travel rewards. So many people get in over their heads with credit card debt.  Do you have any advice for them?

ARS: I personally have the same philosophy; I don’t believe in spending more than can be paid in full monthly. I always recommend charge cards instead of credit cards. It helps curve any unnecessary spending and helps keep that goal of only buying what you can afford.

TR: Where did you get the inspiration for your cover?

ARS: From the Black American Express Card as well as the official Centurion logo imprinted on most AmEx credit cards and promotional items.

TR: What are you currently working on?

ARS: I think the current COVID crises has presented some great opportunities in the stock market; most of my time these days goes into stock research and future financial planning.

TR: What book/s are you reading at present?

ARS: I hate to say that I don’t actually read many books. I much prefer to spend my time reading analyst articles, financial reports, newspapers, etc.

TR: Is there a question that you would have liked me or another blogger to ask but didn’t?

ARS: Why the title of my book has a double T in ARTT. Its subtle but exists for a reason.  It stands for “Anthony Ryan Transforms Tomorrow,” which has become my mantra of sorts. If people are interested, they can find more information about this on my YouTube channel, Instagram postings and the like.

Artt of the Black Card by Anthony Ryan Sadana

Journalist by Lucy Rose Fischer, Jerry A. RoseJournalist by Lucy Rose Fischer, Jerry A. Rose

Thanks to Leslie Barrett of PR By the Book,  I am giving away one print copy of ‘The Journalist: Life and Loss in America’s Secret War’ by Lucy Rose Fischer and  Jerry A. Rose.

Description Journalist by Lucy Rose Fischer, Jerry A. Rose

In the early 1960s, Jerry Rose, a writer and artist, travels to Vietnam to teach English and gather material for his writing. Almost accidentally, he becomes one of America’s most important war correspondents. He interviews Vietnamese villagers in a countryside riddled by a war of terror and embeds himself with soldiers on the ground—the start of a dramatic and dangerous career. Through his stories and photographs, he exposes the secret beginnings of America’s Vietnam War at a time when most Americans have not yet heard of Vietnam. His writing is described as “war reporting that ranks with the best of Ernest Hemingway and Ernie Pyle.”

In spring 1965, Jerry agrees to serve as an advisor to the Vietnamese government at the invitation of his friend and former doctor, who is the new Prime Minister. He hopes to use his deep knowledge of the country to help Vietnam. In September 1965, while on a trip to investigate corruption in the provinces of Vietnam, Jerry dies in a plane crash in Vietnam.

Now, more than half a century later, his sister, Lucy Rose Fischer, has drawn on her late brother’s journals, letters, and other writings to craft his story. She has written this memoir in “collaboration” with her late brother—giving the term “ghostwritten” a whole new meaning.
