Whole and Juicy Dried CranberriesWhole and Juicy Dried Cranberries

I received a voucher for a free bag of Whole and Juicy Dried Cranberries by the Patience Fruit and Co.  These dried cranberries are organic which, is really hard to find.  The cranberry industry is practically a monopoly by a very well know brand and it is well know for using pesticides.

This review is based on their original dried cranberries.  They are sweetened with sugar but they also offer them apple juice sweetened.

Not only are these dried cranberries organic but they are described in their name, ‘Whole and Juicy’.  I have eaten dried cranberries before but never any near as good as these!  The ones I ave tried in the past were so dry, they were like chewing jerky and had little taste.  Whole and Juicy Dried Cranberries are plump, juicy and full of flavor.  They are little flavor bombs!  I love to eat them straight from the package and on my cereal in the morning.  I also made cinnamon buns from scratch and used these dried cranberries in them, instead of raisins.  Sorry, I planned to take a photo but my neighbors came over right after they came out of the oven and devoured these. I can say that everyone agreed, they were delicious.

Thanks to www.socialnature.com for sending the voucher for my honest review.

I give Whole and Juicy Dried Cranberries a 5 out of 5!

Vegan: High Protein Vegan Cookbook by Sam KumaVegan: High Protein Vegan Cookbook by Sam Kuma

This vegan cookbook is small in size at only 99 pages but big on taste and inventive recipes.  It doesn’t include much information about veganism for those new to it however; they include a link to a free ebook titled ‘Vegan Living’.  The author claims that it provides all the benefits of going vegan and challenges involved.

Vegan: High Protein Cookbook is broken into the following recipe types:

Smoothies
Breakfast
Salads
Soups & Chili
Appetizers
Main Courses
Side Dishes
Deserts

Many of the recipes include supplement protein powders which, I don’t like to use.  However, for most you can just leave them out.  I just don’t like to use supplements and prefer to get my protein and vitamins by eating a balanced diet.  I also think unless you are an athlete, you really don’t need the excess protein of supplements.  However, for those worried about getting enough protein this is a great cookbook.  I wish it had been around when I first went vegan!

All of the recipes are easy to make and most are quick, under 30 minutes.  It’s great for those on the run and have little time to cook.

I recommend this cookbook to beginner vegans who are worried about getting enough protein and to seasoned vegans who just want some new quick and easy recipes to add to their repertoire.

I received the ebook version of this book for my honest review.

Dairy Free Butter by MELT OrganicDairy Free Butter by MELT Organic

Thanks to Social Nature, I had the opportunity to try Melt, dairy free butter. I tried the regular organic version but it also comes in a honey flavor and a chocolate version. If you are vegan and don’t eat honey, then the Dairy Free Butter version is your only option. I don’t eat honey.

Both my husband Bill and I tried Melt on toast and corn on the cob. It is a bit creamier than Earth Balance which, is the brand we usually use. I also used it to make corn bread muffins. It is a delicious, dairy free alternative to butter that you can also use to bake with.

Because it is so similar to Earth Balance, we would buy whichever was on sale. If neither were discounted, we would pick which ever one was at the store we are shopping in at the time.  It’s a great to have another delicious vegan option as a butter replacement.
