This is a new challenge I have come up with to read and review some of the books I have won from other bloggers. The reason publishing companies supply books for book bloggers to give away is to get word out about the books and create buzz. I feel bad that I haven’t read many of the book I have won and want to make an effort to read them in 2010.
If you would like to join me, here are the levels:
Honorable Mention: Read 1-3 book you won.
Bronze: Read 4-6 books you won.
Silver: Read 7-9 Books you won.
Gold: Read 10 or more books you won.
The Rules:
1. You must write a review for each book that you read for it to count. If you do not have a blog you can write your reviews on a place like Amazon, Powell’s, Chapters, etc.
2.Crossovers with other challenges are okay.
3. Audiobooks count, as long as you won them. As do won e-books.
4. You can change up levels but cannot go back down a level.
5. Make a list of the books won that you plan to read for the challenge. You can always make changes to the list.
To sign up, leave a direct link to your blog post about this challenge , using Mr. Linky below. Please leave a comment as well.
Please subscribe to my blog, as I will be doing a monthly post with MR Linky. Please add your reviews for each month in MR Linky in the monthly post. For your Name, please use this format Name: (Your Name, Book Title and Author’s Name) for example: (Teddy, Obsessive Reading by Helen Reader). Please be sure to use the direct link to your review, not just to your blog. Then please leave a comment.
Note: I’m not very good at making buttons, so if you would like to contribute a button, I would be very grateful. Update: Thanks to Julie of Bookingmama for the new button!!

Teddy, I linked to you from my blog. I included a list of titles for the Bronze challenge, 6 books. I worry about my links. Please let me know if something is wrong.
I’m joining but please explain to me how Mr. Linky works. I leave you a link to my original post today about joining the challenge. Then when I read and review, do I leave another link on Mr. Linky? Or do I have to go back and edit the first post. I’m really confused, and want to get this right.
Tina, welcome to the challenge. Each month I will write a new post for the challenge on my blog with Mr. Linky. Then in Mr Linky, you will post the links for all of your reviews for that month. The first post will be at the end of January, for all of our January reviews. Just let me know if you need help or don’t understand it. I think it will be clearer with my first post, in January.
You may also want to go back to your first post each month to link reviews to the books on your original list. I always do that because it helps me keep track of my progress and I also have links for my wrap up post at the end of the year.
What a great idea…I am in for the Bronze level. Found your site through Bibliofreak’s newsletter. Am now a follower. Was wondering if you also have an email subscription that I could sign up for so I won’t miss anything? Happy Holidays!!
Mash195, welcome to the challenge! You can subscribe to my blog where it says “subscribe To” in the upper right hand corner of my blog. Happy Holidays to you as well.
I’m in…although I have only won 2 books. Hopefully, there will be more to come. I love how you made the counters for your challenges. I’m gonna steal that idea!
Ooo I might have to sign up for this one.. It would be my first reading challenge. Still traveling for the holidays, maybe next week when I go home and peruse my books 😛
This sounds like a good challenge. I have a stack of won books I want to get to, but I have many books I’m reading for work. Unfortunately, they seldom overlap, although I am trying to. Many of the books I’ve won, I want to preview for our library, but am trying to preview others already on a list. Afraid I am technically challenged and don’t do any linking or have a blog. I couldn’t even find the place to subscribe to your blog. Follow yes, subscribe, no. Afraid I’ll need help. There have been several challenges I’ve seen and will be selecting some to post at the library for others to consider joining. I doubt many of our patrons have won books to join this one, however. I’ll be making my list today, a snow day, so I’m actually home and on the computer before 9 PM. I’ll have to come back to figure out what to do next.
Teddy, this is a great idea for a challenge! I have a few books sitting around that I won and had every intention of getting to last year. I’ll think about levels and a list and get back to Mr.Linky after I post.
I’m not going to do this for a variety of reasons…but I do make an effort to give it away to someone who will read it if I don’t. And sometimes my husband reads it instead of me…so that works. But it is hard to keep up sometimes, particularly if you get it, start it, and find it wasn’t the book you thought it was….
Raspberry, it is hard to keep up. I wont finish a book to the end if I hate it. I usually give it a good 100 pages though, depending on the length of the book.
Sorry for posting so late! I did try to post earlier but my old computer seems to eat anything I try to post via my google account 😛
Anyway I did wind up signing up for this challenge! I am doing one of the higher levels, and I keep finding more books I won around the house and adding them in 😛 I have started reading two of my books, The Blue Star and In Cheap we Trust. I am enjoying them both. Thanks for hosting!
Bcteagirl, I was hoping you would join! I know you have won quite a few books. I have won quite a few too and haven’t read very many. Hopefully this challenge will help us.
Just saw this on A Novel Challenge a few minutes ago. Will definitely participate!
J.T., Awesome!
I’m in!! Posted about it and signed up on Mr. Linky.

LibraryPat, No worries you don’t need to have a blog for this challenge. You can write your reviews at a place like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.
To let me know what books you’ve finish you can just leave a comment.

Great idea, thanks! Among my books won is one from you!
Callista, I am hoping this will motivate me to read some of the books that I have won. I can’t remember which one you won from me. LOL!
