A couple of week ago, Margot of Joyfully Retired reviewed this short story. It sounded like a fun short so I decided to read it myself.
The story opens with a husband and wife playing Scrabble together. The opening sentence is, “It’s a hot day and I hate my wife.” That sets the tone for the story.
The game is really close and the entire time they are playing it the husband lets us know that he hates his wife so much the he wishes her dead. Then by chance he plays the word “ZAPS” and his wife gets a static shock from the air conditioning unit. Of course, you can see where this is going, right? Except there is a twist at the end.
The majority of the reading I do is usually deep and depressing at times. It is what I prefer however, it is nice to read something lighter to break it up a bit. This story fit the bill. The story is only three pages long but it is funny and refreshing. Give your self a little fun and read it. It appears in a few place on the world wide web, here one of them.

Thanks for sharing–I really enjoyed that for a short, quick read! Kinda funny!
Oh my goodness…this sounds like a good one!
We picked the same one this week.
Julie and Kathleen, it was a nice change of pace for me.
Carol, I’m on my way over to read your take on it.
I’m glad they weren’t playing Operation.
LOL, John! Good point.
