Thanks to Stephanie Barko, Literary Publicist I am giving away one copy of The Violets are Mine.

Book Description:

Recounted with humor and warmth, The Violets Are Mine describes the degradation and violence that Lester Morris suffered in England’s orphanages during and after World War II.

From his beginnings in Woburn Green near London, Morris’s story lurches downward as he is bounced from one orphanage to the next during an era when corporal punishment was the norm.

For a while, he is released and we are introduced to a foster mother called Teeth and Lester’s cold-hearted thief of a dad.

Eventually, Morris joins the British army and ages out of the system.

Although the author may have grown up without a home or family, he writes with great heart and is a gifted storyteller.

About Lester Morris:

Lester Morris grew up near London and was a British tour guide for many years before moving to the United States.  He is an entertainer of many personas, including racounteur, Santa Claus, and author.

Lester’s memoir, The Violets Are Mine, is his second book.
