Description Supernatural PI by Courtney Davis

Just when Fawn Malero was getting comfortable in her new life….

Fawn was enjoying her new-found career as a Supernatural P.I., settling into a relationship with the Werewolf, Logan, and figuring out how to interact with all the supernatural creatures living in the Seattle area. But it never occurred to her the water off the shore was also under her administration…that was until they started crawling out to beg for help.

Before she knew it, Fawn was on a quest to learn who was attempting to steal the magical properties of the ocean, where a powerful Vampire’s daughter was being held captive. And could she catch the Magician who’d been selling dangerous items to humans?

Of course, she wasn’t alone. The posse she’d collected were still with her and determined to help. If she was going to make it as a P.I. she wasn’t going to do it without backup.

Praise For A Life With Beasts by Courtney Davis

The Fawn Malero Mysteries Book 1

“A Life with Beasts is a story of intrigue and attraction that is especially recommended for mystery readers who enjoy more than a light dose of paranormal encounters and a touch of romance.”-D. Donovan, Midwest Book Review

“a fun adventure/mystery. Courtney Davis brings a fresh perspective to the supernatural creatures we are all familiar with without sacrificing the original ideas associated with them. She creates an exciting world of werewolves, vampires, witches/warlocks, magicians, trolls, and many others.
The book is easy to read and fast-paced. It’s a great read for the summer holidays or when you want a light, fun read. Can’t wait for the sequel!
Also, there is a healthy dose of romance, which can tend to be a bit much for those who don’t read romance (like me). However, Davis has done a great job of making the romance central to the plot, so I found it quite enjoyable.”- Writa Bhattacharjee, GoodReads

“This was a fast read and I really enjoyed it. It gave me some high school Twilight memories but brought more supernatural beings into play. There were several mysteries and problems being solved but they didn’t feel. I found the characters likeable and funny.”-Sara, GoodReads

Interview with Courtney Davis

TR: Please tell us something about ‘Supernatural PI’ that is not in the summary.  (About the book, character you particularly enjoyed writing etc.)

CD: I am very excited about a little journey Fawn and Logan take in this book to my town, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho! And while they are there, they visit some very popular and well-known places, like Tubbs Hill and Sander’s Beach. I am excited to hear from people who know this area and what they think of the way I wrote about our little city by the lake.

TR: I always enjoy looking at the names that authors choose to give their characters. Where do you derive the names of your characters?  Are they based on real people you knew or now know in real life? How do you create names for your characters?

CD: I do a lot of baby name searches most of the time. For Fawn, I wanted a name that linked to her animal communication abilities but also something that would portray her as weak, as she works to find her strength of course, because she’s not really all that weak.

TR: Where did you get the inspiration for your cover?

CD: The covers for both Supernatural P.I. and the first of the series, A Life with Beasts were designed with the characters as inspiration.

TR: If this isn’t giving away spoilers, please tell us about when Fawn and Logan met and how she found out he was a werewolf.

CD: She always knew he was a werewolf, since she grew up within the supernatural world, that wasn’t a surprise. They were both children of powerful leaders in the area and so spent time around each other from time to time, meetings and boring stuff like that. But as a kid, Fawn thought she could play with the big kids, and she ended up being an inadvertent cause of some family trouble for Logan and that is an element that twists through both books. (and hint-hint even book #3)

TR: Which actress would you like to see playing Fawn from ‘Supernatural PI’ if it were optioned for a movie or series?

CD: Oh, this would be an ultimate dream come true! I think Emma Watson would be good or Lucy Hale!

TR: Who would you like to see play Logan?

CD: A young Jason Momoa!

TR: What draws you to the paranormal genre?

CD: I love the idea that there is more going on around us that what we know and see, just makes life more interesting.

TR: Describe the room you are sitting in as though it was a scene that Logan was describing.

CD: It’s hot as fuck! What are these people thinking having a fire going when it’s like sixty degrees outside. Weak humans… But at least their furniture is made for a big man like myself and comfortable too. I could take a nap if it was quiet but, kids and animals are sprawling all over the place making noise, reminds me of having the pack around, comforting but I can’t let my guard down. No one here can protect themselves so it’s my job.

TR: When did you first have a desire to write?  How did this desire manifest itself?

CD: It started in Jr. High. I wrote a short story for a class and people liked it. After that the idea sort of sat in my head. I started writing things here and there as I went through school and then, at eighteen I started writing what would turn out to be my first complete story, a historical romance. Now many years later I’m publishing urban fantasy and couldn’t be happier. I hope that someday I’m only writing and my day job will be a happy memory.

TR: What is next for Fawn?

CD: She has many adventures to come. She will continue to protect the supernaturals of the Seattle area for many books to come and keep them secret from the humans as well. I hope to keep this series going for a long time, as long as people keep wanting to read it!
