Veggemo: Non-Dairy Beverage
I received a carton of Veggemo for my honest review. It is a non-dairy beverage that can be used in place of dairy milk like soy milk or nut milks. However, it is made with “veggies”.
I was excited about Veggemo because I like the idea of a vegetable based milk as an alternative to soy or nut milks. However, to me, pea protein, potato starch, and tapioca starch, are not vegatables. Sure, they are made from veggies, but calling them veggies is a stretch! Also, I don’t like the taste. I tried it cold and then tried to froth it with my cappuccino maker. I was not a great froth but acceptable but still did not taste good. I did a blind taste test with my hubby and he easily knew which was Silk Almond and which was Veggemo. He did not like Veggemo either.
Sorry I can’t recommend Veggemo. 2 out of 5 stars.
I have never tried this product. It might be a healthy alternative in a recipe where the flavor sun’ t too apparent.
If I want a veggie drink, I stick with V8. Thank you as always for sharing your honest opinion. I always appreciate that. Cheers, Kara S
I have done some pea protein protein shakes, and the texture is interesting. I hadn’t thought of milk being made from veggie sources. It’s too bad it doesn’t take good because it seems like a good idea. Thanks for sharing with us, Teddy.
Would it be OK as a base for a cream sauce with other vegetables?
