Vegan: High Protein Vegan Cookbook by Sam Kuma
This vegan cookbook is small in size at only 99 pages but big on taste and inventive recipes. It doesn’t include much information about veganism for those new to it however; they include a link to a free ebook titled ‘Vegan Living’. The author claims that it provides all the benefits of going vegan and challenges involved.
Vegan: High Protein Cookbook is broken into the following recipe types:
Smoothies
Breakfast
Salads
Soups & Chili
Appetizers
Main Courses
Side Dishes
Deserts
Many of the recipes include supplement protein powders which, I don’t like to use. However, for most you can just leave them out. I just don’t like to use supplements and prefer to get my protein and vitamins by eating a balanced diet. I also think unless you are an athlete, you really don’t need the excess protein of supplements. However, for those worried about getting enough protein this is a great cookbook. I wish it had been around when I first went vegan!
All of the recipes are easy to make and most are quick, under 30 minutes. It’s great for those on the run and have little time to cook.
I recommend this cookbook to beginner vegans who are worried about getting enough protein and to seasoned vegans who just want some new quick and easy recipes to add to their repertoire.
I received the ebook version of this book for my honest review.
