Dairy Free Butter by MELT Organic
Thanks to Social Nature, I had the opportunity to try Melt, dairy free butter. I tried the regular organic version but it also comes in a honey flavor and a chocolate version. If you are vegan and don’t eat honey, then the Dairy Free Butter version is your only option. I don’t eat honey.
Both my husband Bill and I tried Melt on toast and corn on the cob. It is a bit creamier than Earth Balance which, is the brand we usually use. I also used it to make corn bread muffins. It is a delicious, dairy free alternative to butter that you can also use to bake with.
Because it is so similar to Earth Balance, we would buy whichever was on sale. If neither were discounted, we would pick which ever one was at the store we are shopping in at the time. It’s a great to have another delicious vegan option as a butter replacement.

I received a free package of Melt for my honest review.
For whatever it’s worth, reading this has inspired me with a strange — and STRONG — desire to eat some butter — or delicious vegan butter substitute — by itself. Finding no such thing in my refrigerator, I have diverted my hunger towards a Cheese Tortellini Lean Cuisine. I’m crazy, what can I say? 😉
That aside, I admire how you use this blog as an occasional venue for the provision of practical guidance to fellow vegans. It’s an important lifestyle choice reflecting strong values in every case I’ve ever heard of, so I think it’s commendable you contribute to the (undoubtedly too limited) knowledge resource base of those who share your values in this way. Kudos, Teddy Rose! Cheers, Kara S
Thanks Kara! I do think it’s important to share my long term experience with newer vegans. I wish I had a “go to” vegan to ask question back when I first started out. The internet was just starting back then. Now you can get support on just about everything!
It’ll be nice to have an alternative to Earth Balance! I hadn’t seen this in Whole Foods yet- need to take a look and try it!
Will have to take a look, my daughter has had some stomach issues and is dairy free for the time being.
