Zenobia – Challenging a Legend (Zenobia Book Series, Book Two) by Russ Wallace
After winning the famous Alexandria horse race, Zenobia, a young Syrian warrior and an aspiring scholar, assumes her life will return to normal. Wrong! A tumultuous romance develops with her instructor, widely considered the most brilliant academic on earth.
Unknown to her, an enemy plans to kidnap Zenobia for his harem. The hired mercenaries never suspect their intended victim is a deadly warrior. The attack is thwarted, but the Syrians are alerted to a slave trade in young girls.
Meanwhile, a Nubian princess has been captured by the slavers. She struggles to survive in the dangerous situation while she seeks a way to escape. Can she succeed?
Zenobia’s impetuous nature continues to impel her to take unwise risks, both in class and on a hunting trip. When a second kidnap attempt on her fails, the last attacker escapes. She decides to run him down to save her family. Thus begins an epic chase on horseback across the desert in the dead of night. It culminates in a shocking revelation that threatens her very future.
Circumstances now force Zenobia into roles for which she is untrained. As she meets the challenges, she begins to unleash her strategic genius, which will one day raise her to the pinnacle of her world.

I have never heard of this historical figure. Yet, within a couple of days, I see this blog tour about her and a historical costume for a costume ball, from over a century again, that was supposed to be modeled on one she wore, was posted on another fashion blog! This sounds like a good book. Too bad it is not available for Canada too.
I too was surprised I had never heard about Zenobia in the history books. That’s why I wanted to write this series to spread the word about her amazing story.
Denise – I have ebooks available so go ahead and enter to win the giveaway. If you want a hardcover I can make that happen too. Good luck and I hope you win so you can learn more about Zenobia.
Teddy Rose – thanks for doing the giveaway. I’m glad you have one of the entries to give free food to The Animal Rescue Site. What a great idea!
Hi Russ, thanks for stopping by. I have been including The Animal Rescue site to my giveaways for years now.. I try to support animal rescue every opportunity I have and we only adopt rescues. Thanks for your generosity for Denise. She is a long time reader of my website! I hope you are enjoying your tour so far!
Thank you very much, Russ, for the offer. She does seem like a very fascinating person. I googled her name to find out more about her, after reading about your book.

This is the “Queen of Zenobia” gown, that was created by the House of Worth, for a fancy dress ball held at Chatsworth.
This sounds captivating and fascinating. Thanks.
