Luck — it sure is an independent, powerful phenomenon in life! I feel very lucky this week, so I am musing on that concept as well as the generosity and smart, excellent work done for us on this blog by Teddy, which is presently such a palpable reality. 😉
Fellow winners, may these books prove to be everything you hope for in a read and more!
Speaking of valuable contributions of books knowledge, I have a personal response for you, Teddy —
Regrettably, I cannot pay it back/re-forward it by writing reviews and publicizing the books I win here. I’m struggling mightily with various typical and less typical life stresses, and I cannot take on book review commitments that I know I will sometimes fail to keep in a timely, thoughtful manner consistent with the real value I would wish them to provide. I have over-committed myself on occasion in the past, and it creates significant emotional fallout (shame, guilt) I feel I must avoid. Better a mooch than a flake is my mantra…kind of? ;0 If you want to encourage/request reviews in return for giveaway wins, I would have to abandon participation for some time in good conscience. I really feel I ought to do this, and I would be happy to do so if circumstances allowed. I’ve found through past experience that it is deeply personally rewarding when a review or some other communication helps draw attention to an indie or under-recognized work….
Thanks for the treats, Teddy. Happy reading to all, Kara S
Cheers,
Kara S
