Thanks to Anneliese Grosfeld of Simon & Schuster Canada, I am giving away one copy of ‘Tides of Honour’ by Genevieve Graham.
Book Description:
A novel of love, loss, and honour amidst the horrors of war and its aftermath.
It’s 1916, and the last thing Nova Scotian soldier Danny Baker expects to find in war-torn France is the love of his life. Audrey Poulin is alone in the world, and struggling to survive the war in the French countryside. When Audrey and Danny meet and fall in love, it seems like the best version of fate.
But love is only the beginning, as Danny loses a leg in the Battle of the Somme, and returns home to Halifax with Audrey, only to discover that he’s unable to leave the war behind. Danny and Audrey struggle with their new life together, and must face not only their own internal demons, but a catastrophe that will soon rip apart everything they think they know about themselves and each other.
Genevieve Graham, author of Under the Same Sky and Sound of the Heart, brings her passion for weaving history and fiction together in a seamless tale that will capture and enthrall the reader.

The relationship between the main characters sounds intriguing. Thanks for the giveaway.
The story, era, and the setting. thanks.
Lucky Canadians! I had several ancestors born in Upper Canada (that’s old school Ontario) who squandered my chances to read another awesome, free book won in a contest along with all the privileges of Canadian citizenship that would have been my birthright *shakes fists at sky signifying ire at ancestors, the fates, et al*.
They threw away my future for the dazzling prospect of living somewhere like Duluth or Detroit — for obvious reasons(?!?!). Fools! American fools! Their issue has been condemned to American folly ever after!
Seriously, I am happy to have discovered another gem on this blog. Cheers, Kara S
Oops, please ignore my entry, Teddy. I didn’t notice it was just for Canada.
the setting; please ignore my entries. Thanks.

I’m Canadian and went to U of T too! Canadian authors rock! Seriously though, this sounds like a good one. So many came home from the war and their lives were changed forever. My uncle was a motorcycle dispatch rider in Holland during WWII. He never spoke much about Holland. Out of all his sister-in-laws he gave my mother a picture of himself on his motorcycle and a book about the Liberation of Holland, which all Canadians, who served there, received. The pictures in the book, show the devastation in the country. There were literally no towns and roads left in many places. My cousin said, that he never spoke to his family about what happened. Her mother told her, that her father was covered in boils, when he came home and suffered from nightmares for a long time.
I have heard a lot of good things about your books, I would love to read this one.
Tides of Honour is a must to read especially if you are Canadian! Ms. Graham is a very talented author and I’m never disappointed with her novels!
