Thanks to Maria Barry of Chronos Books/John Hunt Publishing, I am giving away one print copy of ‘Lady Katherine Knollys’ by Sarah-Beth Watkins.
Book Description:
Katherine Knollys was Mary Boleyn’s first child, born in 1524 when Mary was having an affair with King Henry VIII. Katherine spent her life unacknowledged as the king’s daughter, yet she was given prime appointments at court as maid of honour to both Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard.
She married Francis Knollys when she was 16 and went on to become mother to many successful men and women at court including Lettice Knollys who created a scandal when she married Sir Robert Dudley, the queen’s favourite. This fascinating book studies Katherine’s life and times, including her intriguing relationship with Elizabeth I.

I haven’t ever followed Mary’s story, so I never knew about Katherine. As a fan of Elizabeth I, I think the connection between the two women sounds very interesting!
Thanks for much for the giveaway!
Fascinating historical. Thanks.
I was completely unaware of this person from history. Thanks for the introduction.
Now, I am a Tudors obsessive, so I would have taken this bait regardless of the particular subject of the book given the period in English history. That said, I am particularly excited about this giveaway because I can’t say I’ve read anything about this woman in particular to date. So many women in history of civilization, so few of their stories known…*sigh* Cheers, Kara S
the main character
I wish this giveaway was open for my country. I have added it to my TBR list.
Somewhat peculiarly, I just discovered that a novel about the very same woman was released a few months ago. It certainly sounds interesting to me! It’s called Cor Rotto: A Novel of Catherine Carey, and the author’s name is Adrienne Dillard. Check it out — https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23534253-cor-rotto
It appears that this woman I believed to be so unique as a subject of a new book about the Tudor period is really quite in vogue right at the moment! Cheers, Kara S
Historical Fiction and nonfiction, especially set during the Tudor era, is my all time favorite! I know a little bit about Katharine Knollys but not as much as I like. This definitely seems like an exciting way to remedy that. Thanks for the giveaway!
I find the history and time period fasinating and interesting. Thanks for having the giveaway.
I have read books about Mary, but would find it interesting to follow Katherine’s path.
Love the painting on the cover.
