About the Author
Mel Starr was born and grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After graduating with a MA in history from Western Michigan University in 1970, he taught history in Michigan public schools for thirty-nine years, thirty-five of those in Portage, where he retired in 2003 as chairman of the social studies department of Portage Northern High School. Mel and his wife, Susan, have two daughters and seven grandchildren.

Knights & castles… my kind of story 😉
I really like that it is a historical mystery, one of my favorite genres. I love the setting for this one, and would enjoy reading it.
I was looking forward to trying this author’s work very much and got lucky and won a copy of another book in the series on LibraryThing. I thought the prose didn’t add much of anything to the story; it didn’t seem like it was written by a novelist. Maybe a copywriter? I don’t know. It was very basic that way…not that I could do better myself or anything!
Did anyone else find this series disappointing…?

Thanks for your feedback on this book, it’s good to know. I haven’t read the book but took part in the tour in case someone here wanted to give it a try. Historical fiction is my favorite but I though I do read historical mysteries on occasion, I don’t read a lot of them.
Don’t know how i missed this giveaway. This cover is so disturbing, that I have to stop and examine that foot, every time I scroll past this.
