In “Cross My Heart,” a boy is torn between betraying his conscience or a fugitive friend, and in “Delayed Deposit,” five people are taken hostage during a bank robbery that turns into a tense standoff. The collection also includes the award-winning “Disturbing the Peace,” honorable mention in the 2010 Rope and Wire short story competition. These seven stories total approximately 40,330 words or 161 book pages.
About Elisabeth Foley:
Elisabeth Grace Foley is a 21-year-old author who is really too young to have done anything interesting enough to put into an author bio. She is busy trying to do something about that. An avid reader and lifelong history buff, she writes historical fiction, particularly Westerns. Her first published story “Disturbing The Peace” was an honorable mention in the first annual Rope & Wire Western short story competition, and is now collected with six others that are appearing for the first time in her debut short story collection, The Ranch Next Door and Other Stories. She lives with her family and a large stack of writer’s notebooks in the northeastern U.S.
