This is just a quick note to those of you who may have noticed my absence recently. Either from not doing my regular postin or not posting comments on your sites.
I had to hop on a plane with a moments notice to go to Minnesota. We had such a scare. My mom had a mini stroke. The good thing was that she was already in the hospital for something else and they were able to administer an injection within the first hour of the stroke. It is said to be a miracle drug and I now believe it! Within the span a only a few days, she was talking normally and walking again! Her memory is still a bit fuzzy but otherwise she is back to herself. She is now in a nursing home for rehab but I just heard today that they are hoping to send her home later this week.
I am back home now and hope to catch up on some posts. I have a huge backlog of books to write reviews for and some short story reviews and of course, Mailbox Monday. I had a bunch of giveaways already set to automatically post, so I know you didn’t miss those but I have several more coming up this month, so stay tuned.
Oh no. I was wondering where you were Teddy. Glad to hear that your mother is on the road to recovery.
That is scary. I’m glad they were able to treat it so effectively!
I’m glad to hear all is okay! And I hope you and yours are all well also!
Lezlie
Sending good wishes for your mom. I’m sure that was scary for you!
Glad to hear she’s doing better!
I hope all turns out well for. What a scare that must have been. Modern medicine is amazing.
Oh, I am very sorry to hear about what happened to your mom, Teddy! I hope that she continues to do well, and that she is out of the hospital soon!
Goodness, that had to be frightening! I’m glad your mom is doing better. I hear that drug is amazing if they get to the patient early enough! I wish your mom a full and speedy recovery!
Marg, I figured you were wondering. Thanks!
Kathy, me too! It was scarey to see her that way. At first she could only say a few words and gibberish. It was so frustrating for both her and us. She knew exactly what she wanted to say but it couldn’t come out.
Lezlie, thanks so much. I was so tempted to phone you well I was in town but I had my hands full. I hope to come again for a planned visit.
Mary, thanks so much, it was.
Thanks Anna.
Bethie, it certainly is.
Zibilee, thanks so much.
Beth, thanks so much!
Thanks for the update. An emotional and stressful time, for sure. I’m happy to hear she is back to herself!
Thanks John!
That clot buster drug is a miracle. My dad had it when he had his heart attack and it saved him from having any heart muscle damage. He was only minutes away from a hospital when it happened. He now exercises at a gym right attached to the hospital near them. It is staffed by nurses and the doctors are just through the door.
Glad to hear that your mother is doing so much better.
Thanks Heather. It sure it!
Oh, how scary! I’m so glad that she is recovering so well!
Julie, It was. Thanks!
