As I said in a recent post, I have decided to cut way down on the challenges I participate in. However, this is one of my favorites and I’m not about to quite it, so I signed up for the 4th.
John of The Book Mine Set hosts this wonderful challenge and you do not have to be Canadian to join.
The challenge is the same as before, to read and review 13 Canadian books. Each participant gets to decide if a book qualifies for the challenge or not but basically if it’s by a Canadian author, is about a place in Canada, or takes place somewhere in Canada, it qualifies.
What I have read so far:
1.Restitution by Kathy Kacer
2. Ape House by Sara Gruen
3. Bow Grip by Ivan E. Coyote
4.Last Night in Twisted River by John Irving
5. Essex County Vol.1: Tales From the Farm by Jeff Lemire
6. Room by Emma Donoghue
7.On the Proper Use of Stars by Dominique Fortier
8.Essex County Volume 2: Ghost Stories by Jeff Lemire
9.The World of the Polar Bear by Norbert Rosing
10. The End of the Ice Age by Terence Young
11. Essex County Vol. 3: The Country Nurse by Jeff Leire
12. The Nobody by Jeff Lemire
13. Sweet Tooth: Out of the Deep Woods by Jeff Lemire
14. Sweet Tooth: In Captivity by Jeff Lemire (Volume 2)

Good luck!
Maybe I’ll get around to reading Year of the Flood finally, too. It’s been on my shelf for some time, and I really loved Oryx and Crake.
I am looking forward to this challenge once again. I have finished my first read The Best Laid Plans by Terry Fallis though still have to pen my review.
I;ll be looking forward to your selections.
Thanks Kathy!
I loved Oryx and Crake too John!
Heather, I’m in the middle of my first one, Restitution by Kathy Kacer. I always have fun seeing what you read for the challenge.
Good luck. I just read Year of the Flood, it was a fantastic read, I hope you enjoy it as well.
Thanks Jules.
Hope you’re enjoying your 1st selection as much as I’m enjoying mine. Happy reading, Teddy!
Thanks Wanda. I am just finishing up my first book for the challenge. I am really enjoying it!
