Bill and I now have the pitter-patter of little feet once again. It has been too quite here without Robbie and Tina. We came to the decision that it was time to open our hearts up to someone else in need of a stable home and parents.
This is Amanda, in Latin her name means “worthy of love”. That name describes her very well! She is such a sweet girl! We just have to get her to not chew through our computer headphones. LOL! Thank goodness she doesn’t seem to enjoy electrical cords, or it could be shocking. (Pardon the pun!)
I swore that I wouldn’t get another black cat, because Tina was black. Of course I got one look and Amanda and I melted.
Amanda is a Manx and therefore only has a little stub of a tail. Isn’t she cute? I’m not prejudice at all, not me. LOL! She is about 1 year old. I was reading up on the breed and found out that Manx aren’t fully matured until about 5 years. She loves to play and nap. She follows my husband and I around the house a lot. She is a very social girl.

Amanda is beautiful! I’m so glad you’ve got a new fur friend in the house. We’ve thought about adding to our family, but we’re afraid the old kitty girl would not be happy. Still . . . little ones add so much cheer. We’re still considering. Have fun with that kitty!
Welcome to the family, Amanda! You have a great new mom and dad!
Lezlie
Congratulations on your new arrival! I’m sure Amanda is going to be one happy kitty. 🙂
She is beautiful, Teddy! Congratulations to the new addition to your family. 🙂
Bookfool,
Thanks! Most aren’t happy with new additions at first, but they usually adapt. It’s important to indtroduce them slowly. Eventually we will get a dog as well. The hurt is still too deep with Robbie right now.
Lezlie, Joy, and Literary Feline,
Thanks so much!
awwww… I’m so happy for you! New cats are always fun. This makes me miss my kitties–two at home in Ohio with Mom & Dad because immigrating to Canada with me would’ve been really hard on them, and one we got from my MIL. She’s had to spend the last weeks in a kennel because we’re in between moves and the landlords at our temporary place have a no-pets policy. Argh! We didn’t think we’d be here this long.
She looks lovely Teddy! Congrats on the new addition.
Awwww…she’s so lovely 😀
She looks rather comfortable doesn’t she. 🙂
I miss my purring friend.
Congratulations! She’s adorable.
Oh Jena,
Thats so sad that your baby has to be in a Kennel right now. That is especially hard on cats.
Marg, Nymeth,and Jessica,
Thank You!
Wanda,
She sat that way for over an hour. She must have been very comfortable. We get the idea that she really like listening to the sterio.
Oh, she’s gorgeous, Teddy! I’m so partial to black cats (we have 3). I’m glad you’ve adopted Amanda!
Tammy
She’s adorable! I never knew Amanda meant worthy of love? Love that name now!
Teddy, Amanda is beautiful. I love black cats. I’m glad she’s gotten herself a good home. I’m sure she’ll be spoiled in no time, if not already.
Aw, she’s a sweetheart! Congratulations on the new addition to the family.
Oh Tammy, I didn’t know that you had three black cats. Amanda is a sweetie. Although she did wake me early this morning. (scream).
Yan, I was looking up baby names and that is how I found out what Amanda ment. I knew then that had to be her name.
Dar, she’s spoiled all right! She has us wrapped around her little paw. LOL!
Thanks Tanabata!
Congratulations! She is beautiful and I am so happy that she is in such a loving home.
Thank you Amy!
Very cute kitty!!!
Thanks Michelle!
Congratulations! What a sweetie! Cats make such wonderful companions, especially when they’re social. Hope she continues to be a blessing to you.
Congrats! 🙂

twiga92,
Thanks so much for stopping by! We just had company for the first time today since we adopted Amanda. I couldn’t believe how social she was! She ran up to them gave a little meow and then expected them to pet and play with her. LOL. Good thing they are cat people.
A very unusual thing about Amanda, is that she loves to have belly rubs. She’s the first cat I’ve ever know to enjoy that.
Thanks for the award Bobbie!
Cute furkid! Nice that you adopted. I love looking at people’s pictures of dogs and cats. Please update us with photo’s of your pets.
Are Manx cats rare? I don’t think I have ever seen one. Yours is gorgeous.
Denise, Manx are more rare than regular domestic cats. I read somewhere that white manx are the rarest. I had never seen a manx until I met Amanda. I should really do a new post because both Amanda and DJ, our Sheltie, have grown. Bill sometimes calls Amanda Butter Ball because of her weight. Mean of him, I know.
