My absolute favorite book of 2007: Sweetness in the Belly by Camilla Gibb
I highly recommend this amazing work of historical fiction! It’s one that I hope to re-visit again, which says a lot, as I rarely re-read books because of my long TBR. This is definitely among my favorites of all time!
Teddy, The Book Thief was my favorite, but Sweetness in the Belly was a close #2 with a few others. So many books out there!
Oh this is great news! I’ve had Sweetness in the Belly on my TBR list for a long time now and didn’t know anybody that had read it. Glad to read that it’s your favorite of the year! 🙂
Unfortunately, it’s not plugged into any of my challenges for 2008. Maybe I’ll just have to squeeze it in.
I know Kristy, it’s so hard to choose a best. There’s so many good one’s!
Oh Joy,
Try to fit it in, if you can. It’s a wonderful book!
I haven’t even heard of Sweetness in the Belly before. Do you have a review on your blog?
Sorry Marg, I don’t have a review for it. I read it before I started writing a review for all of the books I read.
Amazon.ca has a good description of the book if you want to find out more about it.
No worries Teddy! I was just being lazy! Thanks anyway!
i’ve got a few of your 2007 favorites on my 2008 list. i’ve never heard of Sweetness in the Belly though – so i must check it out!
I am very restrained when it come to giving out 5 star ratings, but this one was 5 plus, IMO.
Teddy, I didn’t even know you HAD a blog! I’m definitely bookmarking this one now. And will certainly look into your favorite book of 2007 :-O
News travels slow Aarti. I just started in the end of October.
Sweetness in the Belly, certainly sounds like a different kind of book.
A lot of good books here.
I’ve read a few of these, but am so excited to run across this list of MANY books I need to add to my TBR! Sweetness in the Belly sounds like a must-read-asap.
