I haven’t had much reading time lately. My mom was out here for a visit and just went home. We had a very nice visit and I will see her again in September.
Above is a picture of Kootney Lake, which I took last summer. Bill and I will be leaving next Tuesday August 4th for a much needed vaction. Our first stop will be at the Royal Terrell Museum in Drumheller Alberta. After that, were off to a four day folk music festival in Edmonton Alberta.
We’ll only be gone a week, but we are both really looking forward to getting out of town. The house is so quite now without Robbie.
I’m off to try to catch up on some reading now, so stay tuned!

Have a wonderful trip. I would love to visit Alberta some day! I lived in Valley View (north of Edmonton?) when I was a small child, but I have virtually no memory of the area other than it was VERY cold!
I am glad you had a nice visit with your mom. And have a great vacation! Mine is 33 days away . . . Can you tell I’m ready? Haha

Thanks! I know it is very cold there in the winter and very hot in the summer. We’ll be drinking a lot of cold liquids and slathering on the sun screen.

I’m going to Hawaii. We aren’t actually leaving until a few days after the start of my vacation, but I am looking forward to the time off.

Have a great vacation! When we lived in Alberta we used to love going to the Royal Tyrrell in Drumheller! If you have time while you’re in Drumheller make sure you check out the hoodoos in the Badlands too. Nothing else like it in Canada!
There’s also a suspension bridge up there that is pretty awesome as well. Have fun!

BUT I’m saving a little here and a little there. In 2 years, I want to do a 2-week family vacation to Hawaii. Gotta plan big, right??

I’d love to go to Hawaii! I’ve never been. Were thinking of getting rid of our second car and then we should be able to afford some other things. However, the priorities on my list are new couch and extend counter and cabents in the kitchen. I hardly ever drive our second car and when I want a car, my husband can easily take the bus.
I hope you can next year, that would be awesome!
