I have previously reviewed two stories in this short story collection, Stolpestad and Chickens.

Now that I have read the entire collection I can say that this is one of the better collections I have read.  My favorite stories were the two mentioned above.  My least favorite was the title story, The Architect of Flowers.  It had the incredible prose of the other stories but it was too dis-jointed to me.
All in all, Lychack’s writing was powerful prose with a dash of humor and lots of drama.  I challenge people who say they don’t like short stories to read this collection.  As I’ve said before, short story writing is an art.  William Lychack has a strong command over this art.
